Minnesota Early Youth Gun Hunt Oct. 20 - 23

We are looking for some land to hunt on for the early season youth gun hunt Oct. 20-23. This will be my 10 year old daughters first deer hunt. The permit area I normally deer hunt is not in the early youth hunt zone.

Areas included in the youth gun hunt are 601, 602, 338, 339, 341, 342, 343, 344, 345, 346, 347, 348 & 349

Last year my son and I hunted the NEY WMA near Henderson that was in the the permit area. We saw a couple deer but not close enough for a shot. This is shotgun only land. The WMA is managed for both deer and pheasant. You could also try Carver Highlands and Minnesota Valley NWR.
