Rib Contest Saturday

Recommended Posts

Be there or be square! Should be fun, hopefully we can place this year. ISB and myself are trying a different technique this year (much more traditional), so hopefully we don't take a step backwards.

Anyone wanting to participate, let me know. It is a really fun time.

Anyone wanting to sample the all the ribs, we serve to the public @ 4:00. If you want to come early to check out all the different set ups please feel free to do so. It is pretty cool

All I can say is, it was a great event. We had 25 teams cooking when it was all said and done. Absolutely great weather and a great turn out as well. Pretty much everyone was sold out of ribs in 45 minutes.

The finish

Tied for 5th in the judging

Tied for 6th in the peoples choice.

We had a much better rib to work with this year. Our ribs turned out really good. I fell a litte behind things early as I was busy doling out ribs to the contestants. We never did get the ribs to the temp we wanted (but it was close). That resulted in them not getting the proper rest. All in all I was pretty happy with them however.

I will post pics later this morning when I get more time.
