How many panfish rods rigged how?

How many panfish ice rods do you guys have and how do you keep them rigged (generally) when chasing gills/crappies?

For me right now I have 2 decent setups and then two more less expensive ones. I generally have an angel eye tied on one, a glow devil tied on another one, a tiny red glow jig on the third, and then plain red hook with small splitshot on the 4th.

Generally for crappies by bouncing from one offering to another if they shut down I can get a few more fish to commit to bite with each new item... has that been your experience as well?

I have two rods just for gills. I keep then rigged with my two favorite hooks. If I can't get them to go with these I usually don't try to much else. If I can get a few takers I may try switching lures.

For crappies I have two rods also. These double as my perch rods. Then I have one rod just for walleye that I keep a Glow Devil on. This rod seems to work for everything (perch, walleye, crappie) I tuck them all nicely in my croxton pond bag. I have broke less rods this year since I got that bag. I love that thing!

I'll rig 4 rods. Two Thorne Bro's, one Gentz and one Frabill.
1) Glow Demon.
2) A non-glow dark color, I've been using a maroon sparkle jig with great success and it's slowly becoming my favorite.
3) A Northland "Jig-A-Whopper" knock off that I attach a tail too.
4) A small jigging spoon.

One last thing. Remember, The majority of the time crappie will feed as the swim upwards. For this reason I never use a split shot while fishing crappie. I will catch as many crappie by seeing the line suddenly become limp as I will by seeing or feeling them through the rod. If you have a split shot on your line, you won't see your line go limp, as the split shot will keep your line hanging straight down.

GILL RODS: 2 graphites spooled with 2 lb yellow stren.
1 spooled with 1lb vanish with a spring bobber for sensitive fish.
CRAPPIE RODS: 2 combos set up with slip bobber rigs.
1 graphite rigged with a small forage minnow for searching. I also use my gill setups alot when there on a grub bite.

I have 2 28 inch light action Genz rods and one 29 inch medium light action Genz rod. I rig the 28 inch rods with Tiny 20 reels and 2 pound test Berkley Micro Ice. The 29 inch rod has a Quantum reel with 4 pound test Berkley Micro Ice.

As far as the jigs are concerned it varies. I'll has a vertical and horizontal on each of the 28 inch rods. Typically I have a small search lure or spoon on the 29 inch rod. I typically fish for crappies but gills are always around.

Good Fishin, Matt.

I have 3.

Start aggresive and then I would work my way down.

I start aggresive, with a forage minnow spoon. I'll try gold and green, and switch to a white and blue if that doesn't work.

Then I have a purple tear drop for the next weapon, and finally I have a red horizontal jig (yes, most would use that first) for my finkicky feeders.

Swapping maggots for minnow heads, tails, waxies, etc comes when the maggots have failed me on all three of those combos.

Last but never to be least, there's the 24 pack of Michelob in the truck for those really blasted stubborn fish.
