Silverado-CD not ejecting

Recommended Posts

When I push the eject button, I hear a clicking noise, this is the factory radio cassette and cd player that came with the truck, not an aftermarket one. Will have to bring it into a shop. Would it be better to go to a car wrench or a stereo, cd place?

You asked for a trick and here it is. This happen to my 2004 Silverado. Drove it that way for about 1 1/2 years. It was time to put in a new battery. When I did that it worked again and has up until now, 2 years. It must have de-energized or reset something. I would totally disconnect the battery (both terminals) and let it sit that way for 20 minutes, then reconnect. Good luck.

I had a 2005 and it happened to me. The dealer told me to do the same thing. I am just wondering if the cd was a copy burned on a computer because that was the case with me.

I don't remember exactly which one. It was either Huey Lewis' Greatest Hits (gotta love the horns) or my cousin's country band that I believe was professionally produced. I never leave a CD in anymore, I always take it out before I shut off the car.
