What is this?

Could be a mink that has an albino patch, but would probably say weasel as well, they will turn white in the winter, and, although seems rather early, maybe started molting already. Maybe it knew something we don't and winter is coming early this year. Guess it did not know a car could run it over though.

Thanks for the responses guys! I know that the picture is not very good, but its all I could do. I looked in my rear view mirror as I moved up waiting to turn and someone got out and grabbed it and put it in a bag!

Well why didn't you say so? Now I definitely know what it is: Supper! grin

Um, not too hard, that's a mink. 95%+ of mink have "milk marks" on them as well. These are white patches/stripes/strips that go from the chin to between the front legs along the middle of the underside fo the belly and continuing down between the back legs. They can have as little as just a spot on the chin/bottom jaw, to a long wide stripe that varies in width the whole way down. Suprised someone picked it up, they have no value this time of year, it is illegal to possess one taken out of season without permission from the CO, and the hide would go bad in a matter of hours in the summer. Not that they have a whole lot of value in Nov/Dec anyway. Good buck mink have been topping out near the $20 range the last couple of years, pity for such a fine fur.
