Wiring depth finder to starter battery?

fishnowworknever

Question

Wiring GPS and Sonar to starting battery, is this OK to do typically? I have 2 batteries, one starting and one deep cycle. Then have the trolling motor alone on the deep cycle? I'd love to hear some opinions.

I have a Lowrance 3500c GPS, 786C bird, bilge pump, minnkota 50 bow mount, lights etc.

These batteries came with the boat, I've never heard of a Stowaway.

Batteries:

StowAway deep cycle ST27DC180

105 Amp hours

180 reserve

Starting:

800 MCA

180 Reserve

I use a die hard charger model 200.71227

As the others have said, you want all of your electronics on the starting battery. Trolling motor on it's own battery (deep cycle).

Also Stowaway batteries are fine and have been around for a long time. When it's time to replace them, you can replace them with whatever brand you want.
