How has your Walleye fishing been so far?

Recommended Posts

Kettle I too have a 14 foot boat, but that does not stop me.

Last week I fished Bemidji next week I will be on Mille Lacs like others have posted you have to watch the weather. I personally have been on Mille Lacs in three foot plus waves, but they were nice rollers not the angry white caps.

Yeah, don't let the small boat slow you down from catching nice walleye. I have seen 14 foot boats with a 9.9 on back going far out on Lake of the Woods. Just watch the weather and be safe!

That's pretty close to what the resorts rent up there.

It's been a decent year for walleyes for me to in the southwest part of the state. Really good spring on lakes. Not so good summer bite, but fall fishing on the river is really starting to pick up.

The spring and summer were about as close to average as I've had....I'm also one of those dorks who counts every fish he catches, and I keep track of them all in a journal, so I can pretty easily compare this year to previous ones.

This fall has been insane, though. It's by far the best bite (up on Mille Lacs) that I've ever had in the fall. There are LOTS of little guys to weed through, but the consistency has been surprising, to say the least. and now that the Miss isn't so high, the fall bite there should pick up nicely, too.

Man, I love autumn!

My spring /summer eye bite was pretty good overall and I love the fall nothing better than hunt ducks in the morning and jiggin/trolling up a few eyes in the afternoon. It will only get better and I love the mid day bite this time of year. I will duck hunting in the morning and trollin eyes in the evening saturday on Mille Lacs

My year has been great as far as numbers. I learn so much from these borads and I am thankful to have enough time on the water to apply what I have learned. Rule number 1 for me is time on the water will make you a better fisherman. Plus nothing beats being on the water early morning with your kids. I have a lot to be thankful for and catching fish is great but not the only reason I fish.
