Rod and reel for upcoming Fly-in to Canada

Recommended Posts

Hey guys and gals!

I wanted to get some "expert" advice from all you folks today. I am a muskie fishherman that is going to Canada for a 8 day fishing trip and would like to pick up a decent rod/reel. I have been looking a ton of different options, so I thought i woudl go to the source.

Rememeber I really only walleye fish a couple times a year so I dont want to drop as much as my Thorne Bros custom rod, but something nice that i can get a lot of feel from.

Thanks!

or, what i would do is get a bix box store combo, such as C-store's Tourney Trail rods with a quantum/shimano reel

decent for the price (60-100 bucks, depending on the setup) and you won't have to worry about abusing it on a fly-in.

might just be me but I've never felt the need to take a really nice rod to Canada for jigging walleyes or casting cranks
