Where do you recommend to get a bedliner and topper ?

Recommended Posts

I am from Mn, I just bought a Tundra Double Cab. I need to put a drop in bed-liner in as well as a topper. Any recommendations on where to do that at?

I might get the spray-in bedliner too, but not too sure. As of now, I like the drop in liners better.

Depends on where you are in the state.

Spray in bedliners are the way to go. Never have any water getting under/behind it. Stops items from sliding around.

I like LineX brand spray in.

I thought about Line X, but my truck has a back up camera, will this affect the spray in process?

I agree with the spray in bedliner. I have a Rhino liner and my brother has Line-X. The difference I see is the Rhino liner seems to have more bumps on it. Line-X is a little smoother.

I don't know where your backup camera is on the truck but on my van it is tucked up by the license plate. I would mention it to them and have them cover it for "peace of mind".

Just curious everyones thinking on bedliner. Doesn't really add anything to resale. Non-slip is very nice. I use the removeable rubber mat that serves same purpose and just move to new truck. Works good as long as you are brand loyal.

I have had all types of liners drop ins spray ons rubber mats carpeted it al depends on the use of truck I had a spray on but put a rubber mat on top on last truck this truck I have now has factory drop in liner I put rubber mat on top and I also put the new Access Carpet mat on top of that. People are worried that the drop ins rough up paint and will rust but if it roughs up paint it would rough up the rust to meaning as long as truck is not parked for years on end and don't get used it will never rust. First thing to do to prep for spray on is grind off all of paint for best adhesion. To each there own. As far as Toppers Go I would try Countryside Covers in North metro by all of our favorite big C store. Owner Operated with great installation.

To me, it would add value if I was buying a truck. I might not pay a whole lot more for it, knowing that I can get it done, but if their were 2 identical trucks, 1 with, 1 without, I know which one I would take. So it might sell faster with the liner. Depends on how much that is worth to you.

The thing is, it may rub on one spot one day when your hauling a load of bricks, then rub in a different spot when you have your ice shack in there, etc. and might not rub again for a while, leading to rust.

I install them for a living and I with the new trucks the beds are ecoated and wont rust any how its not like the old gm and fords and dodges of the 90's Only thing that would make them rust is some type of corrosive material to spill and that more than likely will also ruin most any liner Plastic,spray-on or otherwise. Its just like when the spray on gets chipped and not resprayed that spot in the truck will rust because they ground threw the paint and primer to bare metal anyhow. but like I said before to each there own plus a spray on really doesn't provide and dent protection like a drop in

    • Sorry to hear that Duff. Will give my GSP's an extra scratch behind the ear for you guys today
    • Aw, man, sorry to hear that.  Shed some tears and remember her well.  They all take a piece of our hearts with them; some more than others.
    • yes sorry for your loss..  our dogs are always special...
    • Truly sorry to hear that duffman! I know that feeling.  Keep the good memories
    • Chamois passed away this weekend a couple days short of her 13th bday. What a great dog to hang out with here at home and on distant adventures. Gonna miss ya big time my little big girl.
    • Sounds pretty sweet, alright. I will check them out, thanks.
    • If you really want to treat your wife (and yourself) with a remote operated trolling motor, the Minn Kota Ulterra is about easy as it gets.  Auto stow and deploy is pretty awesome.  You just have to turn the motor on when you go out and that the last time you have to touch it.   24V 80lb.  60 inch shaft is probably the right length for your boat.  They ain’t cheap - about $3k - but neither one of you would have to leave your seat to use it all day.
    • Wanderer, thanks for your reply. I do intend for it to be 24 volt, with a thrust of 70-80. Spot lock is a must (my wife is looking forward to not being the anchor person any more).  With my old boat we did quite a lot of pulling shad raps and hot n tots, using the trolling motor. Unlikely that we will fish in whitecaps, did plenty of that when I was younger. I also need a wireless remote, not going back to a foot pedal. We do a fair amount of bobber fishing. I don't think I will bother with a depth finder on the trolling motor. I am leaning toward moving my Garmin depth finder from my old boat to the new one, just because I am so used to it and it works well for me. I am 70 years old and kinda set in my ways...
    • Dang, new content and now answers.   First, congrats on the new boat!   My recommendation is to get the most thrust you can in 24V, assuming a boat that size isn’t running 36V.  80 might be tops?  I’m partial to MinnKota.     How do you plan to use the trolling motor is an important question too.     All weather or just nice weather?   Casting a lot or bait dragging?   Bobber or panfish fishing?   Spot lock?  Networked with depth finders?  What brand of depth finders?
