Who's got the biggest one?......Fish of course!

Recommended Posts

I can't help but to notice some very nice pictures in this site! What are some of the biggest fish you guys have caught? Did any one catch anything close to the records? I'm new to walleye fishing and my biggest is around 22 inches. Maybe some day I can catch something worthy of the wall.
So tell me.....Who's got the biggest?

The biggest walleye I have caught is 27 1/2"!
In Cass Lake on a black 1/8 oz. jig and leech.
Many 26" and smaller. Can't break the 28"+ barrier for nuttin!
Had 10lb. eyes at the boatside only to have the hook pop out just before getting netted.
And that was when we were in a pontoon!
Caught alot of 26" eye's in Mille Lacs when the bite was hot!
First walleye I ever caught was in Lake Osakis (1969) when we were trolling for pike. I was using a #5 gold blade-bucktail Mepps spinner.
I weighed 6 pounds. Came in like an old boot cranking it in with a heavy duty pike rod!

Biggest fish I have caught ...but not landed would be the multiple occurances I getting the monster pike on when fishing for panfish. I have never landed one bigger than about 14# but have lost 3 huge ones. At least 2 were when I was alone but the third was when my wife was along. No getting out of that one. To regain my top notch status I then proceeded to hook in to the biggest walleye I have ever landed!! 31.5" and 10#.

My wife's is her first lake trout last summer. 34" and huge and fat! she did not lose this. My first laker was bait!

My 'eye would have to be 32" 12 pounds caught on LOTW ice fishing. It happend to one of the three fish we caught during the entire trip. She is still swimmin for one of you to catch!

My best fish of any species would be a 100+lb Sailfish in Tamarindo, Costa Rica last winter.

Keep em coming, but lets not get out of controll.

Largest Walleye 31.5 inches (released)
Largest Musky 52 inches (released)
Largest Fish 50 lbs King Salmon in Alaska (tasted so good!)

I do have a 30.5 inch Walleye that I caught and had put on the wall.

Both Walleyes were caught out of the Brainerd area and the Musky was out of Leech.

Good luck this weekend can not wait to read the posts from this weekend.

Let's see...

Biggest overall fish was a 22# Northern I caught while fishing for smallies caught around Mankato. (can't remeber the lake name... college is still a bit fuzzy after 12 years.LOL)
Biggest 'Eye is 8.5lbs. Out of Basswood Lake
Largemouth, 10 lbs, Lake Norman, NC.
Cat - 28lbs, Dan River, NC
Oh, and a Stingray I caught while I was in the Air Force, stationed at McDill AFB, Tampa FLA.

MY biggest walleye out of minnesota was 29.5" with a 2-27" to follow it up.
In minnesota my biggest is a 26" eye, I caught that on opener last year at 3:00am. Probably one of most memorable fish I have caught so far.
My biggest fish, weight wise, was probably a 16 lb Pike that I caught last summer. Otherwise I have caught a 20" smallie, a 22" bucket mouth, and some really nice panfish.
All of them fish mentioned above have been released, im still waiting for that perfect on to mount.

And keep those hooks sharp!

My biggest walleyes came in the same weekend, a 32.5" the first night and a 31.5" the next. Biggest bass is 23" (just over 6 lbs.). Biggest crappie is 1 lb. 15 oz. Biggest northern is about 18 lbs. Biggest muskie is 53" X 30" and by some calculations would have beat the current record of 54 pounds. All fish were released except the crappie. I caught that when I was 8 years old and my grandpa mounted it for me. I may get a replica of the muskie when I have the $$$ for it some day but for now I will settle for the pictures. All fish were from Minnesota.

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
