I would think this would be possible by mounting the SS transducer on your trolling motor and turning it sideways? Obviously you'd be limited to slow speeds, say 2.5 or 3 mph max so as to not damage your TM.

That won't work (The sonar must be perpendicular to the direction of motion), but front scan sure would be handy on the river.
