life=outdoors92
its been a rainy, rainy, rainy june for most of Northern minnesota though. every week i have been up there to fish (almost weekly) it has rained a good amount, and today they expect rain the whole day. it might be a tougher year than we think we all the young broods having a smaller chance of survival now
kbb
I've been thinking the same thing, with this cold rainy spring it may not be as good as drumming counts make it out to be.
tacklejunkie
It will probably be a decent season but no doubt this cold, wet spring will have a toll on the babies
knowsnothing
I normally hear a lot of drumming while enjoying my cigar. So far this year I have heard zip. I was wondering about the rain. The swamp is way up and standing water all over.
life=outdoors92
i have a cabin near rapids and still here them early in the morning while fishing. not a lot, just a couple scattered, most likely juvies from last year. there will be plenty of birds this year, but just not the juvenile population like the 2 years past. get out and enjoy the last peak year while you still can i guess! brittman
Pockets of birds. Some areas of the top half of MN had near normal spring rains other areas had much. Southern half of MN has had much more rain.
tacklejunkie
I have been seeing quite a few hens with babies. I think it will be a decent season
