to name a few more:

Joe Fallon (Vermont)

Shaun Winkler (CC)

Brad Johnson (BSU)

Toby Kvalevog (UND)

Bryan Grand (BSU, not D-1 at the time but pretty darn good player and coach)

never did I once say Bemidji was a hockey town...that's Warroad. Or the Detroit Red Wings if you're thinking NHL. I was just stating that Bemidji has had good years in youth hockey but High School hasn't matched that success, I don't know why. Players are not motivated, I guess? Actually it's the coaching.

Hey Brooks,

I may have gotten screwed on our bet. There appears to be confirmation that JT's injury sustained during the Sioux series is indeed a broken finger. I'm betting you gave some inside info to the players to target his Hak finger intentionally. Think of all of those Hakstols he coulda fired up late on Saturday night. Man it would have been so great smile

This time its his finger the next time he will sleep with the fishes[godfather impression] grin.

That might back fire on UND. We need you guys to take CC out of the equation for the NCAA tourney. There barely hanging on. Go dogs

Just 4 points separate fourth through eighth in WCHA standings (CC, UNO, UND, MTU, SCSU). Three home ice series up for grabs. Four series with pretty big implications.

SCSU vs MTU

CC vs UMD

UM vs UNO

Wis vs BSU

UND vs DU

Arctic Blast AA vs AF

If we play like that again we will get two more points. Best to avoid any contact. After watching last nights game a player wouldn't dare fart or he would get two for interference. Man those refs were bad on both ends.

3 WCHA games on directv right now. Cool.

It was cool, and yet I spent most of my time watching a game on the internets. Sweeps by both maroon and gold teams. Minnesota has the Cup all but won. But I'm really happy the Dogs have a #2 seed locked up. North Dakota playing some tough hockey too passing CC.

Sidenote, Kenny Reiter had 2 assists tonight!

Failed to notice last night. What a coincideance that a Shepherd refs a rodent series when the MacNaughton cup is in play. Do they get to take their hometown ref to the Big10?

I just hope him and Anderson(he ref the UND/Den series) doesn't end up in the NCHC conf. Those guys look lost out there.

Secured home ice though. Wanna come up and play? Sioux not afraid to come down and play for the Broadmoor on "nuetral" ice. Sounds like Big10 not so keen on that site for their tourney. Just want the rodents there to be another doormat for the big schools to wipe their feet on.

I don't have a 701 series Shimano. I would venture to guess that it does engage with a pull of the crank. I couldn't give you a FOR sure answer thats I didn't reply to the post in the musky page.

Just reported that MSU-Moorhead will not be adding hockey!! This is a huge disappointment for me personally being that I am only 20 miles from where they would play!! Can't afford to many trips up to see the Beavers with the gas prices!! So I guess now the New WCHA will be pressured into inviting Huntsville, which will really suck!!! Bad day for the 2 remaining WCHA teams and fans in MN!

    • Truly sorry to hear that duffman! I know that feeling.  Keep the good memories
    • Chamois passed away this weekend a couple days short of her 13th bday. What a great dog to hang out with here at home and on distant adventures. Gonna miss ya big time my little big girl.
    • Sounds pretty sweet, alright. I will check them out, thanks.
    • If you really want to treat your wife (and yourself) with a remote operated trolling motor, the Minn Kota Ulterra is about easy as it gets.  Auto stow and deploy is pretty awesome.  You just have to turn the motor on when you go out and that the last time you have to touch it.   24V 80lb.  60 inch shaft is probably the right length for your boat.  They ain’t cheap - about $3k - but neither one of you would have to leave your seat to use it all day.
    • Wanderer, thanks for your reply. I do intend for it to be 24 volt, with a thrust of 70-80. Spot lock is a must (my wife is looking forward to not being the anchor person any more).  With my old boat we did quite a lot of pulling shad raps and hot n tots, using the trolling motor. Unlikely that we will fish in whitecaps, did plenty of that when I was younger. I also need a wireless remote, not going back to a foot pedal. We do a fair amount of bobber fishing. I don't think I will bother with a depth finder on the trolling motor. I am leaning toward moving my Garmin depth finder from my old boat to the new one, just because I am so used to it and it works well for me. I am 70 years old and kinda set in my ways...
    • Dang, new content and now answers.   First, congrats on the new boat!   My recommendation is to get the most thrust you can in 24V, assuming a boat that size isn’t running 36V.  80 might be tops?  I’m partial to MinnKota.     How do you plan to use the trolling motor is an important question too.     All weather or just nice weather?   Casting a lot or bait dragging?   Bobber or panfish fishing?   Spot lock?  Networked with depth finders?  What brand of depth finders?
    • We have bought a new boat, which we will be picking up this spring. It is an Alumacraft Competitor 165 sport with a 90 horse Yamaha motor. I will be buying and installing a trolling motor,  wondering if I can get some recommendations on what pound thrust I will want for this boat?  Also, I will be selling my old boat, is there a good way to determine the value on an older boat ( mid-80's with a 75 horse 2-stroke  Mariner motor)  I will appreciate any help with these questions.
