Frozen smelt

Recommended Posts

If the answer is YES and NO then the Canadian border patrol doesn't know the YES part of that rule. They conficated smelt from our group and told us that smelt were not allowed to be imported into Canada. This happened at Pigion River, MN

If you check the fishing regulations you will see that smelt are not allowed as bait in zone 4 or 5 but are not restricted in zone 6 ( Thunder Bay Area). You need to read the regs specific to your area . Why or if Canada customs took away your smelt is a mystery.
