Wacky Rigging For Walleyes

Recommended Posts

Never tried it. I think you might have better luck with a plastic than a real nightcrawler, since the plastic will be firmer and have the right "action". A real crawler would probably be too limp and just fold in half?????

With that said, I've done a lot of wacky rigging and have never caught a walleye doing it. I've got them on many other bass or pike techniques, but never on anything hooked wacky style.

Good luck, let us know if it works!

Ducker, i recently did just that, it out fished a traditionally rigged crawler, if it goes in front of there face they dont give a dang how its hanging they are going to eat it.

I fish a live crawler hooked through the middle a lot behind whistler jigs. I think it helps a lot with short bites. The crawler does not seem be have the wacky action you are probably looking for though. It basically looks like 2 short crawlers on the jig.
