tip up depth

drogers9317,

It all depends on the type of water you are fishing.

If you know the body well, key in on areas you know the walleye will key in on, chasing perch etc.

If you know any shallow areas that usually hold perch, it would be a great place to begin.

I prefer finding the aforementioned and placing a tip-up on the edge of that feeding zone, while jigging a bit deeper, keeping an eye on the flag.

If you can, fish with several people so you can have a number of flags staggered!

Depending on the bottom make-up, and the water, change it up. SOmetimes placing it directly on the bottom, sometimes several inches on up to a couple feet.

A little time experimenting should prove positive!!

Keep the rods bendin'!! and the flags flying high!!
