Fun drive home from work...

Recommended Posts

Pulled out of the lot at work started going down the road. Heard a clunk, right front dropped, by the time I got pulled over the spring had already cut deep enough into the tire and she exploded just as I got down to take a look at it. 1995 Toreass that has been great up until the last couple months. Luckily I was able to bum a floor jack from the farmer a couple doors down from my incident and he came out to help me get the car lifted up. The jack in the trunk wouldn't get it high enough with a busted up right front to change the tire. I popped the donut on and checked for clearance from the broken spring. Was able to gingerly make the 26 mile trek home without any extra issues. Flashers the whole way and avoiding as many pot holes as possible. Any body have any good ideas of how to remove melted rubber from my face, hands, and arms after the tire exploded on me?

When I was at oreilley to pick up a new tie rod, another customer and I were talking and his wife's 95 just had the same issue. I am gonna have to do the other side too. I had such a good time with this one, I can't wait for the other side. Tie rod bolt siezed up hard core. Not even the impact gun would get it to move. Had to cut it off. I should have used ear plugs, my ears kinda hurt. Now I am planning to drink a little. Bottoms up.
