Spring must be here, I have seen many different species of birds in my yard.

beautiful pictures! I had my very first ever white crested sparrow this year also. Had a sparrow hawk hanging around all winter taking sparrows off my feeders. The robins are eagerly eating the grape jelly, although I can't wait for the Orioles to arrive! Goldfinches are plentiful, as are the house finches and crossbeaks. Had a Northern flicker on my suets

and even a Pileated showed up. Can't wait to see who else shows!

Yeah, it's got all the classic song sparrow field marks.

FWIW, sexes are alike in appearance regarding white-throated sparrows. The tan/dusky ones are a color morph, not females. You get the tans and the whites, and either of them can be male or female.

IMO, the white-crowned sparrow gives the male Harris's sparrow a run for its money as classiest looking. smile
