charging 24 volt system ?

Cheers

Question

I am just installing a 24 volt trolling motor and have to hook up 2 12 volt batteries, ( neg on 1st battery to pos, on 2nd battery , then pos from 1st and neg from 2nd to the motor ). I intend to charge each battery with 2 portable chargers at the same time will this work ? My concern is that since the 2 batteries are joined by a jumper wire can I still view them as separate 12 volt unit or 1 24 volt or something in between . I know most of you will say install an inboard charger but I don't want to go that route as portable chargers are more versatile . Will this work ?

Thanks

I would unplug the TM and also disconnect one of the leads on the jumper to isolate both batteries

Can be done but isn't necessary. To the chargers, each battery will be seen as individual.
