Aaron Carrell
Has anyone tried this lure yet? Its not been out terribly long, but I bought a pack last night to try this spring. I'm pretty much a top-water fiend, so if there is even the slightest opportunity of a decent top-water bite I'll be going for it. I really enjoy using spooks in open water and have always wished there was a way to use them in more weedy situations and this might solve my problem. I've read some great reviews and some bad on BPS's HSOforum, but am wondering if anyone's tried them up here. They seem like a great idea anyways. I bought the 3 1/2" model and will probably through it on some 5/0 wide gaps. So what are your thoughts, and does anyone have first hand experience with these? 74mph
I fished these some last year. Overall I was pretty impressed with the action although I lost confidence in the hook sets. I was able to get alot of hits but very few hook sets. I went back to my favorite frogs and was able to get a better hook up ratio. Im sure some days when the conditions are right the action of the Money Hound would spark up the fish a little more than a frog. Overall its a nice bait and I bet if I used it more I would learn to hook-um too.
RumRiverRat
Pike Love them. I fished them quite a bit in the pencil reeds on Mille Lacs in August and September last year. Caught lots of Pike and Largemouth on them. Good Action and very easy to move through cover.
