iPilot question

To put an iPilot on a V2 Powerdrive, does the motor have to come with Autopilot installed? In other words, can I buy a non-autopilot motor and buy the iPilot as an add on at a later date?

As far as I know, Yes, the I-pilot has the autopilot feature in it. But I think you can buy it with I-Pilot almost as cheap as a regular motor. If your hedging because you don't know if you want the I-Pilot, don't hesitate the I-Pilot is awesume. You will never regret it.

I just installed mine on a Terrova and seem to recall something in the instructions about the V2 must already have auto pilot to use the I Pilot. Was something about cutting wires carefully and not to overheat the shrink tube on the V2 Terrova it doesn't matter it's just plug and play, took about 2 minutes to install...

Just checked the minnkota site and it says the I-Pilot is compatable with all V-2 models.

Like buying a 1975 pickup difference, Terrova/I Pilot is the cats meow. Now if it would quit snowing and wind let up so I can go play more with mine before tourney season starts....

You get 2 auto pilots with the I Pilot/Terrove the simple basic one and an advanced on that works off the internal gps that compensated for wind/current drift.
