Jr. is a contender

Jr has always been in it but he did not have a crew chief that could work with him causing him to do poorly.

Yes, when a driver and a crew chief are on the same page, the driver will do better.

Many thought Jr was washed up with his preformance the last 2 seaons. Now he has a CC that can work and understand what he would like.

Wella, a top car.

This is typically all it takes for a driver to excell, a working tean with a crew chief that can work and understand the driver or what he likes in the car for set up.

So far so good. It is nice to see him get better as the race goes on. There is a big change in his attitude on the radio, and you can see his confidence coming back.

The one thing they need to improve on is their qualifying. Aside from Daytona, his average qualifying position has to be in the high 20's - low 30's. I think once we start to see top 10 qualifying runs, combined with how they improve during each race, he will really start to be a strong and consistent contender for wins.

He needs to bank these "favorable" tracks now before he gets to some of those that historically haven't treated him so well such as Sonoma, Indy, and Watkins Glen. They're doing what they need to do, so far, to make the Chase. Still early yet but it's looking good.
