Water pump

T-water

Recommended Posts

Well I fired up my 30 hp Honda (with hose attached) and it would appear the water pump is dead. Is this something I can do on my own? Any suggestions. I have an appt at a mechanic but it's 2weeks out.

Thanks

find the little return line(the pea shooter) and disconect it from the nozzle in the shroud. Then see if water comes out the line with the motor running. I could be pluged up. I drilled the hole bigger on mine so sand does not plug up the hole.

I believe its a 1999 4stroke. How long do you think I could safely run it without water going through the engine?

30 seconds to a minute is a safe situation, this will give time to thermostat to open.

I found the best way to fix the problem. Turn the dang garden hose on full blast so the pump has enough water to actually get to the engine! Man I can be such a rookie when I get excited about going fishing!
