H have had one for three years now. the first one I dropped anfter a year and poked a hole in the screen. no more touch screen ability= can not clear the first screen therefore can not navigate. I called lowrance for assistance. they would not replace the screen nor could I find one online so I purchased a new one from lowrance as they are discontinued.

I had issues locking up to satelites with the new one so I took the screen out and put it in my old one and it works like a champ.

then the battery went dead, so I dug out the new one again and stole the battery again. works good again.

I use mine for plowing roads on the the ice for my ice house buisness.

the screen is bigger than the H2oc and the touch screen works very well.

I know it's time is limited so I am trying to find a suitable replacement. something that accepts lake map cards.

my 2c

Lowrance gets a bad rap for their customer service. Sometimes I wonder what people expect from any customer service. Cabela's is probably one of the best and they have exchanged or replaced things for me that they don't even carry any longer. Not every company is that way. Be realistic.

I have the XOG in my vehicle, an H2oC for mobile use and an HDS8 in my boat. I love them all. The few times I have had to use customer service, I had no problems.

I have two of them, one works great and the other not so good. One thing you can do if the battery dies is buy what is called a Duracell battery charger which is really just a plug in small battery pack. You can get them at Target in the camera or ceil phone area. They have a few different brands but for the XOG you have to get the one that is 5volt or 5.7 something like that to make it work. Check your XOG book for the Voltage requirement. I use it on my sled to extent the use of my XOG since I don't have a battery starter system on it. wink

I have had an XOG for years and it has worked great. I broke the screen this winter. (my fault) I know Lowrance quit supporting the XOG years ago. The automotive gps market really crashed with the advent of smartphones with nav apps. Do any of the new models support lakemaster chips? It was really nice to have in the truck when ice fishing or even as a portable unit in the duckboat.

I did once get a reply from Lowrance and I was told they are looking into it and would get back to me with that being said that is what i would expect if nothing else say hey we don't know why your unit is doing that. Oh well I guess. Unit still works fine in gps mode and with the lake chip in it so as long as its plugged in its fine

Try the battery pack idea I gave if you want to use it without the 12V plug in out of your truck! wink

as far ascustomer service goes, in a day where the markets are so competitive and products can be so similar, some times, the only real deciding factor remaining in the choice between products is the customer service.

what do I expect as far as customer service? nothing.

it's what I get that makes my decisions clear.
