Mojo = Eyecon

I had been looking at a graphite crankbait rod, and the Mojo 7'0" Medium Heavy, Medium action seemed like it was just the ticket. The only thing was that I cant really get over the purple tint of the rod (fickle, i know).

Recently saw that St. Croix now came out with the eyecon rods, and the 'Bottom Bouncer' rod in that line is also 7'0" MH with medium action.

Is this more or less the same rod?

These same to be the same rod, but in a different finish. Can anyone with a bit more knowledge confirm or deny this for me?

If you want a spinning outfit, I'll definitely get the Eyecon. I'm not a fan of the purple mojo.

I am looking for a crankbait rod that could potentially work double duty as a long line trolling rod if needed. Hopefully a non-purple one.

A bit of research on the internet has led me to discover that the blanks are the same between the premier and the mojo (eyecons are probably still too new).

I realize this is stepping up in price. I just picked up an Avid 7' M crankbait rod, because I just couldn't get the feel down on my Shimano Crucial 7'M crankbait rod. The Crucial is an excellent caster, but I'm just having trouble with getting some hookset on it. I've only been casting the Avid 7' crankbait rod in the backyard and I'm beginning to like it as well. I can only make a comparison to the Avid 6'6" M crankbait rod I already have. It's just a little more refined than the Crucial. A little bit more crispness and better hookset. If things work out, I will consider an Avid 7' crankbait either in the MH or H in the future.

+1 on the 7' MH Avid crankbait rod. Love mine - I had a M ,but broke it and got the MH as a replacement -REALLY like it and use it almost constantly ( with my favorite Lipless bait.)

I have been told that even though they are SCII blanks and rated as a MHM they do not have the exact same action. They also have different reel seats and different guides. Not that the Eyecon rod wouldn't work as a crank rod, it's just not 100% the same as the mojo.

If you want a girly looking rod get a avid pearl. My buddies always laugh at me when i pull my fiances out of the box to shaky head with it.

Funniest thing I have read on FMN in a long time! Intentional or not!
