Anybody have any new signees yet, to fill the space of early departures.

Gophs just picked up soon to be 21 year old chris rial.

6'5 205 out of soldotna, alaska, kenai river brown bears.

55 games , 14 goals and 12 assists.

Hails from sin city.

Sounds like sam warning might sign early as well, so he can atleast workout with the team if someone leaves.

50 games, 21, 18 for 39 pts

19 yrs old

]I just noticed that sophomore adam johnson of hibbing just committed to the dogs. kid looked pretty good.

Yup. I think he's slated for the 2013 roster. Keep loading that pipeline.

I was going to give a run down of the UMD incoming for next year. I am excited about Cameranesi from Wayzata too, but I think he'll be a 2012 addition.

I saw that earlier too, I think his dad played there and with Sandelin being from Hibbing you have some pretty strong connections there. A nice recruit for UMD, probably another Gopher killer.

I'm still waiting to see where the kid from apple valley goes. He just announced he was going to the ndt. That worries me as the gophs don't always seem to pluck the best kids from there.

Fasching....or whatever his name is.

The gophs get a commitment out of kloos. 5_9 170lbs got 90 points as a junior last year at lakeville south. He also managed 2 goals and 2 assists for waterloo after his highschool season.

Sounds like a good recruit that could put in 4 years.

Thanks for posting, I really think Ambroz will be the top freshman in the league next year. Depending on who drafts him we might only get one year out of him. I am hoping for 2 though.

I dont know what the deal is with the Reillys. We have 3 of them coming here but only 1 of them seems good. Role player?....

I'm not 100% sold on Ambroz being that good but he should be a good role player who can bury the puck when he gets his chance. I do hope he can develop into a stud.

From what I under about the Reillys, there are twin brothers playing in the USHL, one has some skill and the other is tagging along on little to no scholarship $$$. The other is a young D man with some very good potential.

It does seem like Lucia is going after a few more smaller 4 year players and still trying to snag the usual studs. To be honest I think he is kind of questioning his recruiting the past few seasons and taking the shotgun approach. Get a bunch of guys in here and hope some of them turn into great college players. It seemed like in the early years we couldn't miss on a recruit and now we have far too many 3rd and 4th line players who were originally recruited to be so much more.

So I was looking at the USHL's top scorers for the year. There is maybe one WCHA recruit in the top 25. What is the deal with that. Miami looks to have a killer class coming in. Why no Wcha'ers. I think Ambroz was the highest at 22 or something.

I think your right about Miami with the #1 class this year. They have Tyler Briggs who is I think the best player in class at college this year. Defensemen Connor Murhy is another bluechipper.

This happens a lot, I think a lot of the high scorers in the USHL are older player. It does seem like the top WCHA and other top programs go for the younger talent with higher up side. I'm really not sure how well this is working for us, it also really helps many other schools level the playing field. Those 21 year old freshmen with 3 years of USHL under their belt might not ever see the NHL but they can sometimes outplay those 18 year old freshmen who will have long NHL careers.

First I have heard of Shibrowski, this actually sounds like a good move, Patterson will play almost every game next year and it sounds like Wilcox needs some time yet. I want to say there was another goalie in the mix but can't remember who.

    • As a recovering machinist, I can appreciate that.  If the spec is 0.001 - 0.0015, then clearly the correct measurement is 0.00125, duh…
    • I just figured that it is easy enough to just get a 3 bank so when the boat is not in use I can keep all 3 batteries charged. I have not bough a charger yet, maybe I will give it some more thought. Edit: After thinking this over, with the size, weight, and heat output of the charger (as well as the cost) I think it makes sense to just buy a 2 bank charger, I have a smaller charger i can use on the starting battery when the boat is sitting at home. Forgive me, for i am a retired engineer and I have to obsess over everything...
    • Congrats on the motor!  I think you’ll like it.   I can’t say much on the charger location but I’ve seen them under the lid in back compartments and under center rod lockers.  160 degrees is more than I expected to hear.   Curious why you’re opting for a 3 bank charger with a 24V trolling motor.  Unless you don’t feel you be running you big motor enough to keep that battery up as well?
    • I did buy an Minnkota Ulterra, thanks for the recommendations. I had a bunch of Cabela"s bucks saved up, which helped. Now i need to get an onboard battery charger. Where do you guys mount these things in your boat? The manufacturer I am looking at {Noco genius) says tht their 3-bank charger will run at 160 degrees, seems like a lot of heat in an enclosed compartment? Thanks for any input on this.
    • You're very lucky a troop of Sea Monkey's didn't carry you away.
    • Wasn't terrible at a state park beach. Antelope island maybe.  I wouldn't recommend it as a beach destination tho.  Figured I was there, I'm getting in it.
    • The water looked and smelled disgusting with hundreds of thousands of birds sh*tting in there.  About as gross as the Salton Sea. When I duck hunted there I didn't even want to touch the water.
    • It's kinda gross with the algae in the summer but I got in it anyway.  Wanted to see the increased bouyancy at work.  You can kinda tuck yourself into a ball and you'll just float with your head above water.  When dry off you look diamond encrusted with the salt.
    • We went to the flats too. I dipped a tire on the rental car onto it just to say I’ve been there, but it was still pretty soft from winter melt. After seeing some moron in a BMW suv get dragged out of the muck I had no intention of repeating his stupidity.
    • I've been out on the flats. It's like being on a different planet
