Sweet Agates! Me and Jake did a lil' billy goatin' too. Found a bunch of agates that day but this was my first nice agate. (too bad it has a bunch of quartz) I never knew I had a little rock-hound in me lol!

Nice findings fellas! Are you finding them in central MN? I am just curious how far south you can find them. Have a collection myself and always find myself scanning the ground up in Duluth, but I never thought to look for them around the twin cities.

I collected them as a kid, but I was too young to understand what they are. I have always kept an eye out for them, but never looked up how they were formed or dispersed. You guys just re-sparked my interest and I just looked it up...Cool stuff. Do you guys keep or sell them? Do you guys tumble them? I remember going to the agate festival and one of my dad's friends had an agate with a couple perfect "eyes" on it that went for five hundred bucks!

I don't sell any of mine. I don't buy any either but there sure are some ones that show up on eebay. I do give a few away to friends and family...including landowners wink

Tumbling the smaller banders is really fun!
