I am not too bright... how to aim '98 K1500 headlights...

Recommended Posts

I can't for the life of me figure out how to lower my headlight aiiming on my 98 k1500. I see the torx screws that I think should be the adjustments, but when I turn them they don't lower or raise. I tried this when it was new, and didn't work then, and just gave up. 13 years later, I am finally sick of it... doh! hahaha!

How the heck do you adjust the headlight on this vehicle? Do I need to loosen something first, then adjust? Thanks very much for any advice. I know am not the smartest bulb on the tree wink but this is killin me...

My best advice is swing buy a body shop. They will have the headlight alignment tools and get it right on they way it should be and for less than you might expect. Yeah, i know you could mess around in the drive way shining them on the garage dour for a couple of hours but they will never be where they should be. It will take the body shop guys ten minutes to align them.

It would be a good idea to spray the adjusters with some penetrating lubricant a time or two before you go. If they havent ever been done before they are likely going to be tough to turn, and it may save a broken or stripped adjuster.
