New or Floor Model?

I have a chance to purchase a new Strikemaster Solo Ice auger for 15% off a new or 25% of a floor model. Is it worth the risk to get another 10% off by taking the floor model? The floor model comes with 2yr warranty, instruction manuals, etc. It looks to be in new condition. Just kind of leary. What would you do?

One thing to look at on any power auger floor model, from my first hand experience in retail...is be sure to look at the blades, and the tip. They can get dinged from costumers removing the blade guard and bouncing them on the concrete floor...so be advised to look at that and touch it up if needed before use. This is very common, I look for it myself before I allow any demo to go of the store.

I purchased a SM floor model from GM a few years ago. Only issue I had was the blades were out of pitch (cutting too agressively). Got the adjusted at D-Rock under warrenty and it has been running great ever since. Worth the savings IMO.

On the other hand, I will never buy a display fishing reel. I cannot believe the beating customers put them through.

Took a leap and purchased the floor model. Saved a $100. Looked to be in perfect shape. Noticed on the manufacture date that it was 6/2009. Will this manufacture date mean that I will have problems with the grease in the recoil. It is a 3hp strikemaster solo 8" auger. Ed would you know the answer to this. Thought I seen somewhere that the 2009 models had the wrong grease but the 2010 models were fine. Want to fix the problem before getting out on ice. I may just call strikemaster and find out. Thanks for all the input.

My only concern then is do I have a new auger with a pull rope full of wd-40 and brown grease. Not really liking the idea of that. Maybe Strikemaster would send me a new recoil if I return my recoil since it was in that manufacturing window.
