Lake Michigan

Just wondering how many of you guys get out and chase the kings on Michigan? My old man gets out there a couple times a year and I try and make it at least once. Its tough to get away in the summer when thats the only time you can work! Anyway, we are heading out there next weeek and I can't wait..the fish are biting the weather is warnming up and I'm ready for some action!!! If there was enough interest how about a Michigan thread? Let me know what you guys think and if you have been out how you did!

I was out of Bailey's Harbor for the 4th. Only able to fish Saturday pm because of the weather. 21/12/8 kings. Also had three screamers that I lost.

White Dodger with Aqua or Green Glow or Green Crinkle fly was the ticket.

Needless to say, I'm heading back this weekend!

I love fishing kings both in lake michigan and in the streams when they come up to spawn. I look forward to this trip maybe more than any other It's fun to catch 20lb + fish, my largest was last year at 32lb. Were do you go out of I like Algoma or two rivers but I have to wait this year untill sept. Good luck & have fun

We have always done good out of Algoma, keewaunee, gills rock they all have there time too. we usually stay out of river hills motel in algoma or captain k's, lost my glasses coming into port there a couple of years ago going under the bridge there.

Gosh, good to see there are other big lake guys out there, the lake has been a blast for the last 4-5 years, we are heading out of Algoma but have also fished out of Kiwanee, and two rivers. A friend of my dad's lost his job last year at Deluxe checks and is now trying to make it as a captian on Michigan. He said the fish have been hitting but hasn't seen any real monsters (25+) but lots of action. Thanks for the replies guys, we will have to keep this thread near the top. I will post results and pics when we get back.
