My buddy told me this story and you can check it out to see if it's true. 73rd and 83rd place same dude! Rules clearly state biggest fish registered wins a prize. My whole concern in this is that I finished in 106th place! but now it should be 105th. 104th was a boat! And part of the rumor is that guy one spot ahead of me got a 4 wheeeler not a boat? Like I said rumor don't know for sure. Crazy stuff happens at this tourney and it did again this year! 105th place is the first loser!!!!

Here is one of the rules for the tournament. I got it off the fishapalooza HSOforum

9. Each contestant will be allowed to fish one hole per ticket, two holes maximum. You may register, as many fish as you like, but only the heaviest fish you registered will qualify for a contest prize. No contestant will be eligible for more than one contest prize.

The officials at the contest should have caught that easily, perhaps it is a typo but it doesn't look like it. Maybe worth a few phone calls just to vent a little, probably won't get you anywhere but hopefully it doesn't happen again. Just one more reason why I don't fish in contests. I know the money goes to good causes but I would rather make a donation that put up with the crowds and rules (& lack of following them!)

We had that happen at a contest on Sat, or so we thought. It turned out to be a father son combo both with the same name. dad got 1st and JR got 2nd.

The rules at fishapalooza is a joke!! It's not even enforced and people fishing ahead of time. I saw a guy catch a bass before it even started and was confronted by the sheriff but was released before they got there so he got away with it. Oh well... I'm still going again next year

A buddy of mine actually called me on saturday and told me that a buddy of his placed two fish at the forest lake contest and won two strikemaster augers. He said he caught two crappies. So I can confirm it was the same guy.

This happened at the Brainerd tourney about 4 yrs ago also. Jaycees admitted the mistake but it wasn't caught until after it was too late so they didn't change anything.

A friend of mine knows the winner of the boat. I guess his cousins boyfriend got 104th place.
