acarroline
Any advice on an area to set up a couple of wheelhouses for Fri-Sun (March 11-13)? 2 wheelhouses, will also bring portables for moving around during the day. Are roads plowed on any of those lakes?
rundrave
my guess with another 15-20" inches of snow they got up there last week, in addition to the tons and tons of snow they already had its still going to be pretty tough getting around. Your best bet would be traveling on a snowmobile with the portables. You could try calling Doug at Sportsmans Cove in Webster and see if the lake travel conditions have improved but I doubt it.Maybe someone thats been their recently will chime in, but since I dont have a sled I wont be headed that way anytime soon. verg
as of right now guys are driving with trucks up on the north end. Ice is 30 or so inches and the snow has lessend some..not sure why, wind, evap etc but getting around up by grenville, buckshot etc has been ok. BUT, we are supposed to get hit hard with a blizzard Mon-Wed so i'm really not sure what that outcome will bring. My guess is--not good. WalleyeMan45
I'll be out in the area next weekend as well. Revised forecasts show that heaviest snow is likely to miss us to the South. Still could pick up 4"-6", but not as much as they first thought.
acarroline
Sounds like the group is still planning on coming to Webster area on Fri-Sat-Sun (March 11-13). Sounds like trucks are moving around on lakes but wheelhouses aren't a great option. Does anyone know if we could put a couple wheeelhouses out far enough from the dock to sleep and have a chance at a night-bite; then just use portables during the daytime? adamr
you would be able to pull a house out there now. But the bite has really slowed down.
