Marcum LX5 question?

Question

When I started fishing yesterday, the lx5 showed I was at 30 fow, a couple of hours later, I couldn't see the bottom anymore. When I got home and charged it, it showed I was at 70%. Bad transducer?? Any ideas?

sounds like u flooded,or u might of switched the depth button or u should have bought a vex but if I had to guess u could try shutting it off and turn it back on check all ur connections make sure what the depth u have it set on is set for what ur fishing at.

No pun intended but buying a Vex is not better than a Marcum.

Its either gonna be bad battery, bad transducer or head unit likely. Go with the battery first and get the transducer tested if possible or use the compatible transducer from another unit.

That's a good idea. I do have a buddy who does have an LX5 too, and can test transducers. But I will indeed get another battery first. It's always a good thing to have a back up battery anyways..

To answer your question, if I recall correctly the bottom was at the top of the screen. I kinda remember this because I can see my bait go from the right side down....then way to the left side and back up. I could've easily bumped the zoom button by accident.

That is the way the zoom on the left side would read if the zoom was set about 2/3 of the dept of the water. In twenty five feet of water the 40 ft. scale should be used with the zoom, then run the area you want to zoom, the two yellow lines down to the area you want to fish. The left side of the screen only reads the 6 ft. of water the zoom is set for. If I stated something wrong I hope someone corrects it.
