Ice_Fishin07
I am looking to add a good fishfinder to my newly bought used boat. I don't have any experience with boat fishfinder? I already have hand held GPS so, not necessarily looking into unit with GPS. I did not hear good things about lowrance H20 so ended up buying Garmin Oregon and I love the Garmin GPS. Any opinion about whats a good summer/boat fish finder? Make and model? Thanks!
walleyeseeker
That's like the Ford/Chevy/Dodge debate. Everyone has a favorite and an arguement to back it up. I have had Lowrance for years and love them. Their customer service has had some problems, but the products I have purchased didn't cause me any issues, so I didn't need to call them. I think all three companies have some good products, but my money goes to Lowrance.
PerchJerker
They all do a good job. If you're looking for just a basic depthfinder, find the one with the screen you like the best --- color, brightness, how clear and sharp the images look ---- and go from there. gregg52
hes right on the ford....chevy deal actually everything on here is discussed in the matter...lots of opinionsi was loyal to lowrance to.. till i bought those 520's 2 of them over a grand and never really worked from the get go and now the gps quit working which i'm not sure why yet its either inthe puck or i have a short probably nothing to do with lowrance atleast at this point i'm going to investigate hard what to replace them with but i'm leaning towards gaarmin or hb a suggestion is that i think most locaters today come with gps and you can split the screen its kinda nice when you are running or fishing makes watching your spot and depth much easy rather than trying to look at 2 screens
harvey lee
Perchjerker hit the nail on the head.I have used many and now use the new Birds.I would buy the largest screen you can afford without upsetting the other half.
