omni tech rain jackets

Wondering if any of you have used columbia's omni tech rain jackets and what your opinion is compared to goretex lined rain jackets. Are they comprable? Found a good deal on what I thought were rain parkas at columbia outlet, but they classified them as all season jackets with their omni tech matierial which is supposed to waterproof. So I am debating on whether I should return it or not. I am assuming they are saying that their technology is as good as goretex.

Never found anything to beat Gore Tex yet and think I have tried aboit all of them. My Omni hikers are far from waterproof.

I use an Omni Tech as my good rain jacket and it's good, it keeps me dry but it is not heavy duty enough for constant outdoor activities. I've got a Cabelas brand guide series Gore Tex suit that I use for fishing and couldn't be happier.

I use my omni tech rain jacket for fishing in everything from fullout downpour to just keeping dry from the spray from riding in rough water on a sunny day. It is nice and light and always keeps me dry. I am quite happy with it.

ME TO

I have 2 omni jackets w/liners

I wore it to the extravaganza last yr and any one that was out there can tell you how much it rained (10) and it was 35 or so and cooling as the rain

quit i was tickled to death i had it on kept me dry and warm all day

as eyebjim said i wear it with out the liner all summer even runing all

though being in the Yar Craft I very seldom get spray on me but in big winds crossing the wrong way i will

I like to that in the fall when it start to cool down i can zip it up all the way and pull the hood down have just have my eyes exsposed
