Gun shy question

I have started to try some gun training with my 5 month old lab. She use to be really good but all of a sudden she is scared. I am even using a cap gun and she is also scared when I clap. I was working with her when she was like 3 months old and she was perfectly fine even with a 22 cal. and no she is skittish. Would she pick up being scared of guns or loud noises from other dogs or is this something she just all of sudden starting to not like?

Also how early can you start e-collar training and invisable fence training? She is a really smart pup but just not sure how to break her from some things and the gun shyness

thanks

Let me start out by saying my area of expertize is with pointing dogs.

we will only expose pups to gun fire after they have been exposed to birds and they are excited about birds, then there is a positive connotation.

I suspect there is a similar approach with labs.My advice is get with a good trainer before you do any more damage.I am sure they will have procedure to get you the promise land.good luck.

fish: I just started to introduce the 22 to my 3 month lab while feeding; started off at 30 yds now i'm at 10 yds, doesnte even blink while i shoot when he is eating; the main focus like stated is positive connotation with the noise and what she is doing; start off at 40-50 yds i would say; and try intro to birds or feeding
