Anybody tried this penny auction site? I see Canon D5's and D7's (and some good Nikon's too) going for a very good price...$50-$70! But buyer beware, it costs $0.60 for each bid. I even saw a new D5 body go for $11.50 or around $50 including bids! Don't they retail for something like $2500? Of course if you get caught up in a bidding war and refuse to quit, the bids could cost you.

I'd be real suspicious, Swimmer, over prices like that for a 5D or 7D. That being said, I've never gone to those auction. Might be worth some time to check it out.

I too am suspicious, as I've never participated. You can observe some of the auctions that are ending on their home page and I have to say it seems legit. One of these days I will buy some bids and I'll get back to you as per the auctions/postage/fees ect, legitimacy. It seems like a Sunday afternoon during the game might be the best time to bid (I actually did see a new 5D body go for less than $20 (not counting bids)!).

I googled it and immediately came up with tons of complaints. It gets a whopping 1 1/2 stars out of 5. It's not a place I'd try and find a "deal".

Steve and Shutterbug...I stand corrected. Avoid this site. My enthusiasm got the best of me. There are 20+ pages of complaints about the site. From bots that rig the auction higher to automatic purchase of bids when you enter your credit card number. The old saying...
