Skeeter Boats

Anybody own a skeeter boat? Looking for something that will be used for fishing 75% of the time, skiing / tuding the other 25%. The following Skeeter boats look like good rigs. Any comments / concerns that I shoudl know about?

My family had a Skeeter 180 Fish and ski for a couple years. It was a fast and fun boat, but on big water with wind forget it. That became scary at times. We switched to a Crestliner 1850 Sportfish and could not be happier! Fish in almost all conditions and it ski's and tube excellent. It is a lot safer for the small kids that are around now also(higher sides).

We have an 1850 walleye boat and it's the best thing we've ever owned. We pull our two teenage daughters and friends and when they're done we drop a line. We've never had a problem with big water,always stayed dry.

I couldn't agree more with the Crestliner. I bought a 2004 Crstliner 1850 Fishhawk with a 150 on the back and could not be happier. I was in EXTREMELY rough water this weekend and did just fine. I also had the family out last weekend to screw around with. This boat will have absoluutly not problem pulling skiers and tubers. Very comfortable to fish from. Like the advice I got when I made my purchase!! "If you can't afford a Ranger 618 or 621 then buy the Crestliner Fishhawk!"

I bought an S-1850 and it is the best riding boat (driest, fastest, smoothest) I have ever owned. It's a deep V boat that is comparible to the ZX series 1775 and 1950. I don't know why Skeeter got rid of the 1850, but from what I heard they might be bringing this size back in '05.

These boats are built tough. I have never heard of anyone have an issue with a Skeeter. Can't say that about a huge majority of boats out there.

I have the 1850 and also think its a great boat. perfect size and fishability and would work great as a ski boat.

I would think the 1775 with a 150 would fit the bill.

I have a new 1790T Skeeter and am amazed by how dry the ride is compared to my old boat, a 1999 Alumacraft Tournament Pro 175.
