They are a great tool for shallow water fishing! Stops your boat on a dime and holds well in current and wind. Geat for flipping in shallow tick cover and hard to go without fishing bedding fish. They are not a cheap tool, but neither is a good depthfinder, GPS or high quality rods an reels.

Got to fish out of a boat with one this fall and can not wait to ge mine mounted on my boat for next spring! Will make crappie fishing easy! No more dropping and pulling the anchor,or spooking fish with bursts from trolling motor!

I agree Swampbuck, but after looking at some videos of it and seeing how it's designed I don't like it one bit. It is designed exactly like an automatic car antenna, ever seen one that got slightly bent, they were stuck in whatever position they got bent. What's going to happen when these things get bent or sand gets into the components. They will be stuck in position, most likely the DOWN position! So now if it's stuck down how are you going to get it up? The Power Poles don't have this issue and if they do get stuck down it seems pretty easy to disconnect the hydraulics to release the pressure and raise it by hand.

Hopefully MK figured out a way to prevent these issues, but for a few years I won't even bother to look at the Talons until they get all the bugs worked out and I don't hear of anyone stuck on a rock bar in a storm because they bent their shaft.
