Hummingbird ICE 35 charging

Crm7290

Question

When charging the ice 35, do you need to unplug the unit from the battery or is it ok to just charge it plugged in? I will unplug the unit until I know for sure that it is safe to do otherwise.

Also, the flasher got snowed on today, how bad is that for it? I was wiping the snow off the when it got too covered, but besides that I was fishing and not worried. Now thinking back, how water proof are they? eek

Here is what the book states to do.

Charge the battery, using the included battery charger, until it is fully charged.

Charging usually requires 8 continuous hours but may vary depending on your

configuration. The LED on the charger will turn green when the battery is

fully charged.

I leave mine hooked up.

Fallow Harvey's recommendations.

The only thing I would add, is try to allow the unit and battery time to warm before charging. It is best for the longevity and performance of the battery. I do not like to leave my electronics out in the cold when not in use.

Bring it in at night, set it by the vent to warm, hook it up a bit latter when you and it are all warm again. Then let it do it's thing, it will self monitor and charge the system for you.

Mine came with a CD and that was all of the details that i saw too which is why I asked on here.

My other question was will snow being on it mess it up at all? The other day I was out in the snow trying to catch a few, and it kept getting snowy. When I got it inside it was all covered in snow.
