Looking for a stone legacy rod bag

Those rod slicks are a great idea.$10 to spendy for me but I will make my own and get the fabric from a fabric store.

I think for placing in the bag I will insert a 1 inch electric conduit cut in half length ways in the middle of sleeve to keep it expanded, close one end then rivet both ends to the plastic dividers then alternate ends.

I also thought about taking a 1 1/4 thin walled pvc cutting it in half length way and putting a half cap on to prevent sliding anothe rod down the same way but I have not figured out how to anchor the pvc to the bags pvc

Not spendy when they cover up Thorne Bros rods.

full-24032-4739-picture220.jpg I maid this for my fly rod a few years back. $8 for a snake skin patern vinal with a cloth backing and this was a third of the material used. Half hour on the sewing machine. I lost the rest of the material over the years but I measured this piece up and I can sew it down the middle to get 4 maybe 6 8 is pushing it sleeves out of it. Holds up to water just fine

Sorry bad day today.

I've been making my own for years with ripstop nylon for my long rods. They make great gifts too for family members.

I love my Marcum rod bags with integrated rod tubes for 4 combos. Unfortunately they are no longer made. My Stone Legacy is strictly used for my longer laker rods and tackle.

I put 4 to a bag and one might be able to get 8 rods in with the sleeve's but I doubt you could get 8 combo units in as there would more than likely be no room for 4 reels on each side.

Gotta love the Stone Legacy bags and I treasure the 3 I have.+

I've got 7 in mine no problem. 4 on one side, 3 on the other. I use the 500 series reels or smaller. It is, hands down, the BEST rod bag out there. At least it used to be.

I'll mention it again.

If all of you Revolution lovers out there would just take a moment to call the company and let them know how you feel about them discontinuing production, they may see the light and make a production run for next year.

I call dibs on the first two off the line if they decide to start up again smile .

Seriously, give them a quick call. It will only take a minute.

I did.

Harvy Ive fit more than 2 rods in a side before, you have to "break down" the reel handle so it rests against the body of the reel. A bit of a hastle but it works.

What about a pre-order? If we get enough guys to basically pre-pay and commit to buying, would they run a bunch of bags??

I've got a Revolution and have had it for what seams like forever. IMO... 6 rods is the max without breaking the reel handles down.

I am sure it takes time to make these bags. How many would be patient to wait the duration, after all it is a spontaneous urge to have one of these. Comes march when it arrives who is going to care. Make an order now for next year who wants that? Good thought though.

Best we can do is petition for more next year and order early if there is a go to manufacturing.

I did get an email response back from customer service. Basically saying they have recieved many calls and emails and it has been discussed throughly to bring it back for next year. It was nice to actually get a response. wink

Cool.

Hope to see them available next year.

If necessary, I think the preorder idea by Hanson is a good idea as well.

I think if they could find a way to get these our to more retail stores, they would sell a ton of these. When they were producing them, the only place I ever saw them was at the St. Paul Ice Show.

IF nothing else, they should try to sell the patent to one of the other reputable ice fishing companies and have them produce it. I would love one with the Vexilar name stamped on it wink

    • If you really want to treat your wife (and yourself) with a remote operated trolling motor, the Minn Kota Ulterra is about easy as it gets.  Auto stow and deploy is pretty awesome.  You just have to turn the motor on when you go out and that the last time you have to touch it.   24V 80lb.  60 inch shaft is probably the right length for your boat.  They ain’t cheap - about $3k - but neither one of you would have to leave your seat to use it all day.
    • Wanderer, thanks for your reply. I do intend for it to be 24 volt, with a thrust of 70-80. Spot lock is a must (my wife is looking forward to not being the anchor person any more).  With my old boat we did quite a lot of pulling shad raps and hot n tots, using the trolling motor. Unlikely that we will fish in whitecaps, did plenty of that when I was younger. I also need a wireless remote, not going back to a foot pedal. We do a fair amount of bobber fishing. I don't think I will bother with a depth finder on the trolling motor. I am leaning toward moving my Garmin depth finder from my old boat to the new one, just because I am so used to it and it works well for me. I am 70 years old and kinda set in my ways...
    • Dang, new content and now answers.   First, congrats on the new boat!   My recommendation is to get the most thrust you can in 24V, assuming a boat that size isn’t running 36V.  80 might be tops?  I’m partial to MinnKota.     How do you plan to use the trolling motor is an important question too.     All weather or just nice weather?   Casting a lot or bait dragging?   Bobber or panfish fishing?   Spot lock?  Networked with depth finders?  What brand of depth finders?
    • We have bought a new boat, which we will be picking up this spring. It is an Alumacraft Competitor 165 sport with a 90 horse Yamaha motor. I will be buying and installing a trolling motor,  wondering if I can get some recommendations on what pound thrust I will want for this boat?  Also, I will be selling my old boat, is there a good way to determine the value on an older boat ( mid-80's with a 75 horse 2-stroke  Mariner motor)  I will appreciate any help with these questions.
    • Sketti...  not out of a jar either!
    • Lol yeah I watched that
    • I went ahead and watched some of the MLF coverage.  Wheeler didn’t make the cut but the bigger story was the Poche/Avera fallout.   Kinda funny listening to both sides of the story and putting together the scenario, reading between the lines.
