2001 Silverado window problem Motor or Regulator

The front passenger side window on my 01` silverado is stuck halfway up. It will go down about an inch and then back up and inch but that's all it will move. I'm guessing it's either the regulator or the motor, but I'm not sure. I took the panel off to get a closer look and still can't tell. My thought is that since it still moves it's not the motor. i found some great instructions on how to change the regulator and motor but I want to make sure by asking on here first to see if someone had some insight on what the problem might be. I suppose changing the whole works out is the best idea since the panel is already off. Thanks for the advice. i can take pictures or video if you feel that would help.

Most likely the cable has jammed in the regulator. Its a pretty straight forward replacement.

They are available in different qualities too....dont buy the cheapo ones, they dont last long.

i would go back with oem and if it has a rivet that you need to drill out, you can replace it with a 1/4 inch bolt however the rivet does tend to keep it much tighter. I know the old crown vic used the rivet.

I agree on both statements...both my passenger and driver side have both jammed. The driver side a second time after I replaced the original with a knock off. Buy a good one.

im sure its the regulator, the chev trucks are prone to that, aftermarket will probley run you 75-100 bucks. oem will be about double that

Fixed it up last night, took about 45 minutes from start to finish. Thanks for all the help.
