Hookmaster
I've kept up giving my dog the hearworm preventer. If I do this, do I need the heartworm test in the spring? I have stopped giving the Frontline for fleas. Should I continue that as well or wait for spring? What do you do?
harvey lee
I just got another dog this spring and when I was at the vet, he sad to give her the heartworm until its gone in December and then I can put her back on it in the spring without the heartworm test. Her last pill she got 2 days ago and now I will wait until spring and get a new batch.
Ralph Wiggum
We keep ours on the heartworm meds year round simply for the fact that it prevents other worms, as well, in case he eats something nasty. We only use Advantix April-September. It's definitely not a necessity to keep them on heartworm meds year round, though.
