they are great to watch. we have some in our back yard also. they love the deer tallow i put out. i save all the deer fat [tallow] while i'm proccessing the deer. after the hide is off i trim all the tallow i can get and put it in the freezer for the birds. great pic's. good luck.

We do the same, but not many Pileateds in the metro. The Downies love it though.
