Huskie
Has anyone heard of any progress or lack of that the new coach has made in formimg next years class? It has to be tough coming in late without the benefit of having a big name. First priority would be to try and keep the early signees if any then start with new players. I wonder if any players that he was recruiting for NI will follow him here? I hope he has some success in the near term so he can build up some Big Ten credibility for future recruiting classes. CJH
He had a bunch of the existing recruits in last weekend - the ones that could get there at least. Supposedly he is good at recruiting out of Chicago, but we will see.
so haaad
Sounds like he's reached out to all of the existing recruits and is honoring all of their scholarship offers. He's also talked with some of the local high school coaches. I read that to mean that he's talked to Grant, Scanlan and probably a few more. I heard that the TE commit from Illinois is now saying he's staying home instead of coming to MN. Not a big surprise. It's pretty common to see a few shuffle around. CJH
Yeah, forgot about the HS Coaches. I think he had a meeting with the Coaches Council or something like that. Supposedly it went well.I expect a few guys to drop, but we'll see if he brings any new guys in too.

Harris is ranked as the 11th-best junior college receiver in the country. He will sign this week, enroll in school next month and take part in spring practice. ... Also announcing he will switch from Northern Illinois to the Gophers was cornerback Marcus Jones of Wake Forest (N.C.) Rolesville High School.
