Spring Training Trip

Giving my mother a trip for Christmas to spend a long weekend to see the Yankees when they come to Ft. Meyers. Anyone have any helpful hints? Best places to stay, eateries, attractions other than the game, excursions, etc.

Are you guys looking to go to beaches, golf, nite life, fishing? Done most of everything in the area and could help if I knew what your interests were.

My wife and her sister were down two years ago-I was not invited. They toured the Edison/Ford Museum and were very impressed. They also went on a day long Everglades tour. The Boston Red Sox facility is also very close. They wish they would have gone to a game there.

McGreggor's Cafe, on Edison Parkway (near the museum) supposedly has the best Key Lime Pie in the world.

A quick Google search will also show TONS of fishing opportunuties in the area.

Airfares to Ft. Meyers that weekend were outrageous. Must be the heart of spring break or something. Best package we could find was $2100/person. Even though that included alot, was not in the budget so we are taking her to Target Field when the Yankees are in town.
