Anyone have any experience with the new propane powered auger by Jiffy? Any feedback is appreciated!

I bought one last weekend. I pulled it out of the box, screwed on the propane tank and it started on the first pull. No smoke or smell, so it's perfect for drilling holes in a house. I took it out on the lake and drilled some holes, worked well and always started on the first pull. It is a little heavy, so if you like to run around the lake drilling lots of holes you may want to go with something lighter.

I wonder if you have to worry about the propane freezing on bitter cold days.

Power was good, no different then my gas auger. I haven't had any trouble with the propane freezing up. However, the dealer told me if it gets below -10 don't let the tank sit in the cold for too long. However, it's fairly easy to remove the tank and bring it in the house.

Propane freezes at approx. -28 degrees. Keep your tank in the truck and you should have no problems. If your running and gunning in -28 degrees or less your a better man than I or maybe foolish.

I used mine for the first time yesterday inside my wheelhouse and am very happy with it. It starts great, way less fumes/smoke and the power is very comparable to my other Jiffy. They are both 10".

I used mine for this weekend and on monday. I like it a lot more than my solo strikemaster. The only drawback is that it is a bit heavier than my previous augars. Other than that, it has plenty of power to get all your holes drilled.

Used mine (again) up on the gunflint yesterday...no issues, by FAR yhe easiest, most problem free auger I've owned/run:) Yeah...it's heavy.

My recoil handle broke this past weekend. It broke when returning back to home position and hit the top of the augar....and crack.

Still trying to get a replacement.
