are there any tresspass laws to be aware of for accessing small rivers that run through private land I am under the assumption if water passes a under or within a feet of a roadway it is accessable and as long as your a certain amount of feet from the surface of the water while hunting .

Water surface is public domain in MN. So if you are floating on or standing on the froozen water surface you are OK. If the stream runs through private land and If your feet are on the bottom you are probably standing on private land. I would ask for permission but that is just me. I don't enjoy my hunt if I am not completedly sure that I am in the right

Yea I know of a lake in sherburne county that under the water isnt puplic and they even closed what they used to call the puplic access. rivers are most likely differnt than that but the safest bet would be to contact the local CO and ask him/her about it.
