ice out water levels

I've been past a few lakes and ponds and have noticed that the water levels along the shorelines are very low. Seeing lots of land where there is normally water. Is this normal during the melt? I hate to go thru the summer with low water levels around the state.

There is more water in the swamps and ditches in this area then we have had in a few years. Bound to bring the lakes and rivers up to a more normal level this spring.

Glad to hear some of you are concerned too about the water levels. I am looking for rain too. Ironic thing is that I do a lot of things with my job outside so I don't like it when it rains. Cliff, glad to hear up north got some good snowfall to replenish the lakes. Made my first trip to LOW last summer and everyone was showing me where the normal water levels were supposed to be. I hope they have recovered with the snowfall and water levels are nearing normalcy.

According to the national weather service,
the minneapolis area was above the historical average for snowfall this summer. So, can't blame it on the lack of snow fall this year. The extremely dry fall is the cuperate. Yes, some good spring rains would be nice!!!
