coleman lantern problem

motley man

Question

My lantern has pressure in tank, but done at mantles. I've replaced generator & fuel cap. Pumps up and hold pressure in tank, but when I turn valve on it just seems to have very little pressure at mantles that fades. Check tank and it has pressure. Any more things to check? Also my Coleman propane two burner stove is not getting fuel to burners. Is it the regulator?

The white gas/unleaded lantern. There is a lever connected to the generator. That has a very thin wire that cleans the generator as you rotate it. Rotate that lever while you have the gas valve on. You should hear the fuel flow off and on while you turn that

The propane stove. You have an attachment with a valve and hose that connects to the propane tank to the stove. Are you opening that valve all the way?

Have done that with the lantern many times and still not getting fuel to mantles. Stove runs on 1# tank, no shut-off.

Lantern, sounds like something wrong with valve. Is valve replaceable or serviceable? Stove, do 1 lb cylinders even use a regulator? My torch doesn't look like it has one.

something is clogged somewhere...Ive never had one apart..but I know my unlce had the same problm..he pulled it apart & cleaned..and it worked..if the tank holds pressure..I would start at the mantle end & work towards the tank, looking for a clog or restriction

The 1 lb tank screws onto a fitting with a valve and a hose that connects to the stove. That valve has to be on all the way.

The generator has an orifice on the end(top). The other end (bottom) of the generator has a heavy wire that gets hooked to the lever. When you rotate the lever a thin wire will pop in and out of the orifice to clean it.

Usually the generator gets corroded to the point that the wire breaks or bends and it can not longer clean the orifice, When that happens its just a matter of time before the orifice plugs. So look for a very thin wire when you rotate the lever.

I'm talking about a white gas lantern that doesn't let fuel pressure to mantles. Changed generator and pump in tank. Tank holds pressure but none goes to mantles. Propane 2 burner stove doesn't let fuel go past regulator that it screws onto.
